In April 2015, it is clear the the promise the DPW Director made to “remove and replace” the soil at Gould Manor Park wasn’t kept. Dana Kery emails DPW and First Selectman Tetreau: Hi Joe,
Last fall, topsoil and seed were placed on top of the debris in the area between the
Gould Manor pond and the old playground. The debris was not removed, it was
covered.
Is covering it proper remediation?
The area along Holland Hill Road, in front of the ball fields, between the bathrooms and
the corner of Crestwood Road, still has exposed debris. Below is a photo from this
morning. There are large pieces of glass and asbestos.
I do not see how it was possible for the debris to be missed when it was put down
initially. I do not see how covering half of the problem solves the problem.
Please fix this.
Thank you.
Dana Kery
